PRIMO Workshop 2022

Post-graduate Researchers in Inverse Problems, Machine Learning, and Optimization (PRIMO) research group. The group, which started its activities in Summer 2020, currently counts more than 60 members from different Italian and international institutions.  

The 2nd edition of the PRIMO Workshop, as part of the PRIMO Research Group activities, is a three-day event taking place in Trieste (Italy), and jointly hosted by University of Trieste (UniTS) and International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA). The event will take place on September 6-8, 2022 at the Department of Mathematics and Geosciences (DMG) at UniTS. 

The “PRIMO Workshop 2022” offers early-career researchers a stage to share their work and network with peers and future collaborators. Every young researcher in the area mentioned above is strongly encouraged to register for an in-person presentation. The registration is free of charge (but mandatory) and includes lunches and coffee breaks.

Submission

Title and abstract can be sent by the speaker to the PRIMO mail (primo2022.ts @ gmail.com) with "PRIMO2022- Abstract - (speaker's name)" as the subject. 

Deadline

The deadline for the submission is July 10th, 2022.  Applicants will be notified of acceptance by August 6th, 2022.

 09/08/2022:

  • We will have live stream Zoom during the workshop. The meeting ID and password will be sent to all participants later.

16/08/2022:

  • Any audience (interested person without presentation), can follow the workshop both in-person and on-line. Currently, these people are able to register as both via mentioned form. However, we have some limited seats for in-person participation; therefore, the registration form will be active only for on-line participation status as soon as we reach the maximum capacity.
  • The maximum time allotted for each participant's presentation is 25 minutes. See schedule.

 22/08/2022:

  • Today is a sad day for anyone who knows Prof. Daniela di Serafino.  Her departure is a big loss for the community of Mathematics, in particular, Numerical Analysis. She was one of the keynote speakers of the 1st PRIMO Workshop (here). The 2nd PRIMO Workshop will be distinguished with a memorial for her in honor of her impressive role in the scientific community. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. May her soul rest in perfect peace!
